landscape is (not) imagined (provocation task)

provocation: i finally finished my provocation task. i decided to do a video presentation as i wanted to include some pauses for thought, some flashing images and some sound clips. like how its started to take shape although would have liked to have further refined the visuals and also added some more to the points. i kept feeling like i was repeating myself but maybe that’s how you build an argument.

the counter-argument: the main points are

• landscape is imagined exists in reality: because it is based on real, actual and previous experience
• landscape is imagined exists in reality: and the definition of imagined supports this
• landscape is imagined exists in reality: even the un-imagined landscape exists in reality – real space and time
• landscape is imagined exists in reality: taking a phenomenological approach – because the imagined is processed in the real and physical body.
• landscape is imagined exists in reality: even the mythical landscape, arcadia, is based on a real place.
• landscape is imagined exists in reality: a posterori – everything exists after experience.

some thoughts post presentation: i guess there are a few areas that i have touched on which i will continue to investigate, namely the terminology around ‘real’, ‘actual’ and ‘existing’. i also revisited ‘arcadia’ and feel that this is an area i would like to devle nto further not just visually but in song, poem and story.
