winter: dodder film

filming: i decided to get out in the river again and continue filming. my section now takes me past Kiltipper towards Old Bawn. I had to hop over a gate on two occasions to access the river on both sides, but it seems others also do this for some ‘anti-social’ activities by the looks of it. I probably should have been wary of hopping over into these areas but my mission to get into the river always overrides any doubts. I quite liked the bleached out white sky for filming on these days although i usually prefer more texture in the sky for filming. the washed out sky seemed to add to the winter-ness of the filming, with the bare trees surrounding the river. i tried filming with the lens sky facing just below the water’s surface and this seems to give a subjective feel from the viewpoint of the river. this might be something to continue for future.

editing: i’m on course with the filming for this film and will keep filming down the river at this pace, so that i span the four seasons. I have also started to edit. for my editing i have begun by simply lining up all the clips in their sequence. i feel its now time to start getting a sense of what i have, what is working and what i need to do.

anyway, some screen shots of these last few days filming … a winterscape!
